Pierre Aderne & Alexia Bomtemp
Joe's Pub

"Brazilian Pierre Aderne's way groovy bossa nova guitar licks are as smooth as a sweet mango on a parched tongue ,his masculine vocals flirting around the ear only add to the sensation that you're enjoying something extremely naughty"
-Belinda Acosta, Austin Chronicle

Brazilian singer/songwriters Alexia Bomtempo and Pierre Aderne make music for an endless sunset. Their fresh sound tempts amazing feelings, carried in charming melodies, enveloped by arrangements that are soft, yet fully worked out, standing behind the perfect harmony in their smooth voices.

After collaborating on one another's solo albums within the past few years, the duo decided to collaborate once again on their critically acclaimed record "Doces Cariocas", a 2008 release in Brazil, Europe and Japan. In 2009, they won a Brazilian Music Award (the most prestigious music award in Brazil) for "Best Group".

Both "citizens of the world", Alexia was born in Washington D.C, of an American mother and Brazilian father and Pierre was born in Toulouse, France, of a Brazilian mother and Portuguese father. Their cosmopolitan, cultured backgrounds bring a unique flavor to the music they make, wrapping particular Brazilian sounds and instruments with echos of pop, jazz and folk, finished by a touch of samba and bossa nova.

Alexia Bomtempo and Pierre Aderne have been successfully touring around the world from Brazil to Europe, Japan and the US. They have appeared in festivals such as South by Southwest and several European summer festivals taking their place amongst artists such as Ben Harper, José Gonzalez, Massive Attack and Asha.
